Online Community Forum is now available!

01/28/10
In the For Members section, you can now access a Community Forum. The Forum is there for all CBHA members to use. Go there and read what your neighbors are saying about topics that are important to them and CBHA. Register your own user name and password and take part in the discussion!

This is a valuable resource for communication within our neighborhood. Please be considerate and mindful when using this resource. No personal attacks or foul language will be permitted. Let's take this opportunity to get to know our neighbors and better our neighborhood!

Rags and towels needed

09/30/09
Our maintenance crew is requesting that residents please donate your old rags and towels for use at the shop and other facilities. Please leave any donations at the clubhouse. Thank you.

How is your cell phone reception?

09/30/09
Many residents have problems with cell phone reception in CBHA. As individuals, our concerns and complaints may be treated lightly or disregarded by the phone service provider. However, if a cell phone provider were to hear from a number of their clients with the possibility that many might change service to a different company, service might be improved.

At the office, we have petitions to notify mobile phone service providers of complaints regarding our service. If you would like to help improve service, please stop by the office and sign a petition.

A residual benefit is the possibility of signing a lease agreement with a cellular phone company. It is not uncommon for homeowner's associations, or water utilities, to lease space at the top of their water towers for cell phone antennas. The lease rates range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars per month per provider. These possibilities are being investigated by staff.

Crime Watch

To report suspicious or criminal activities, please call the Thurston County Sheriff non-emergency line at (360) 704-2740.

Trespassing

An unknown suspect trespassed on private property and cut down a healthy tree on Island Drive. Please report any suspicious activity to the CBHA office or the Thurston County Sheriff.

Mail theft and mailbox vandalism

It has been reported that Sunday, October 18, at about 5:00pm, two teenage girls were seen going through mail boxes and removing contents, until a neighbor warned them to quit and leave the area. Anyone who knows who these girls are, or who observes this type of activity, is urged to contact the CBHA office, call 911, or call the Sheriff directly.
Also, a mailbox on Winward Drive was vandalized, hit with a baseball bat.
Mailboxes are considered federal property, and federal law (Title 18, United States Code, Section 1705) makes it a crime to vandalize them (or to injure, deface, or destroy any mail deposited in them). Violators can be fined up to $250,000, or imprisoned for up to three years, for each act of vandalism.

No Solicitors!

It was reported that there has been a white van soliciting for yard work in the community. As a safety precaution for our community, this is against our rules and regulations. If you see any an illegal activity, please report it.

Owners Responsible for Renters

Owners who decide to rent their homes are required to report the occupant to CBHA. Owners are also reminded that they are responsible for the actions – or inactions - of their renters. As an example, all charges such as assessments and pumps are the responsibility of the owner. If a renter makes a payment on pumps we gladly accept the payment, however if there are any shortfalls the owner is always responsible.

Be Prepared for Emergencies!

Please develop your winter storm home and family emergency plans and be prepared! You need to provide for the ability to communicate with family members, help your neighbors, have a 3-day supply of food and water on hand, a flashlight (with working batteries), a battery operated radio, candles/oil lamp, and matches. See the Emergencies page for more information.
